Idol Cleansing & Sacred Maintenance Rituals

Proper maintenance preserves both the physical luster and the spiritual sanctity of your worshipped murtis.

Wooden Idols (Neem Wood): Never submerge wooden Jagannath idols directly in water. Clean gently using soft natural bristle brushes or dry microfiber cloths. Apply pure sandalwood paste (chandan) or natural neem oil lightly once or twice a year to preserve the wood.

Brass & Ashtadhatu Idols: Clean with lemon juice and pitambari powder, followed immediately by rinsing with clean water and drying with a soft cotton cloth to prevent water spots.

Silver Shringar: Store in airtight velvet cases to prevent oxidation. Clean with silver polishing cloths designed for jewelry.
